Principal Instructor

Design Fundamentals-University of Alberta

As an instructor of the Design Fundamentals course I have been provided with the opportunity to work with university students at all levels of their education from a variety of departments. The position provides me with the opportunity to teach design principles and techniques to students who are experiencing design for the first time. I am provided with the challenge of presenting projects clearly and effectively and learning to understand each student and how they learn. Grading and heading discussions are also key elements to a well rounded design experience.

Lab Assistant

Department of Art and Design-University of Alberta | Various Undergraduate Design Courses

Being provided with the opportunity to work with undergraduate students and an accomplished instructor has been amazing experience. The LA position challenges me to maintain a current and critical view on design so as to help guide new design students as they enter the world of design.

In this position my tasks include the take down and removal of previous shows in the gallery and the installation of the next show. This position provides me with a more active role in the design community on campus and exposing me to the great work our University produces. Working with the artists and designers on their shows and with the other GRA’s provides me with the chance to work as part of a team.
